Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's first piano trio is one of the great masterpieces of the genre. The four movements are like a whole universe of emotions that range from worry and sadness to life-affirming joy and restrained drama. We hear a trio with the Royal Philharmonic's flutist Andreas Ahlin and the orchestra's pianist Stefan Lindgren, together with guest Josef Alin on cello. 

The trio opens with music by Amy Beach (1867–1944), the first American female composer to achieve major success. Practically all of her works were printed and performed during her lifetime, and her fame even reached Europe. Pastorale is poetically atmospheric and is followed by the fast-paced and cheerful Caprice.

Vi hör en trio med Kungliga Filharmonikernas flöjtist Andreas Ahlin och orkesterns pianist Stefan Lindgren, tillsammans med gästande Josef Alin på cello. 

Trion inleder med musik av Amy Beach (1867–1944), den första amerikanska kvinnliga tonsättaren som nådde riktigt stora framgångar. Praktiskt taget alla hennes verk trycktes och framfördes under hennes levnad, och hennes berömmelse nådde även Europa. Pastorale är poetiskt stämningsfull och följs av den ilande snabba och muntra Caprice.
