Vergleichsweise viel hat Mozart für zwei Klavierspieler:innen komponiert – mehrere Sonaten für Klavier zu vier Händen, eine für zwei Klaviere und immerhin auch ein Konzert für diese Konstellation. Dieses souverän ausgestaltete Werk in Es-Dur erklingt zum FESTTAGE-Konzerte der Staatskapelle, in gleicher Tonart schließt sich eine große Sinfonie Anton Bruckners an. Nicht umsonst ist sie als die »Romantische« tituliert worden, kommen doch in ihr Klänge und Ausdrucksgehalte zum Vorschein, die diesen vielgebrauchten Begriff und viele seiner Aspekte unmittelbar einsichtig werden lassen.

Mozart composed a comparatively large amount for two pianists - several sonatas for piano four hands, one for two pianos and at least one concerto for this constellation. This masterfully developed work in E-flat major is performed at the FESTTAGE concert of the Staatskapelle, followed by a great symphony by Anton Bruckner in the same key. It is not for nothing that it has been dubbed “Romantic”, as it contains sounds and expressive content that make this much-used term and many of its aspects immediately apparent.
