This masterpiece is the last composition by Pergolesi, who died of tuberculosis at the age of 26. This musical testament concentrates all the techniques of the vocal art of the time: the Italian cantata which uses the galant style, the opera buffa, almost the bel canto, stunning dissonances. More than a religious work, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater is a fresco on a poem of pain, one of the summits of the genre, fascinating in its beauty. An anthem for Amnesty International.
