Sønderjylland's Symphony Orchestra performs together with the South and South Jutland high school choirs and the high school choir from South Schleswig Karl Jenkins' "Stabat Mater". The work by the Welsh composer Karl Jenkins is based on a prayer from the 13th century "Stabat Mater". Similar to many of Karl Jenkins' other works, he also combines musical inspiration from Western symphonic orchestral tradition with various ethnic wind instruments and vocal traditions from the Middle East.

Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester opfører sammen med de syd- og sønderjyske gymnasiekor samt gymnasiekor fra Sydslesvig Karl Jenkins’ ”Stabat Mater”. Værket af den walisiske komponist Karl Jenkins er baseret på en bøn fra det 13 århundrede ”Stabat Mater”. I lighed med mange af Karl Jenkins’ øvrige værker forener han også i dette værk musikalsk inspiration fra såvel vestlig symfonisk orkestertradition med forskellige etniske blæseinstrumenter og vokaltraditioner fra Mellemøsten.
