The Belgian harpist Anneleen Lenaerts and flautist Marina Piccini perform a brand-new double concerto by the Finnish composer Kalevi Aho. What makes the whole thing even more special is that Aho tailored his new composition to Lenaerts and the Flanders Symphony Orchestra. It became a sensual exploration of a dreamy Arcadia. A work full of pastoral peace, with here and there a nod to his musical source of inspiration - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

De Belgische harpiste Anneleen Lenaerts en fluitiste Marina Piccini creëren een nagelnieuw dubbelconcerto van de Finse componist Kalevi Aho. Wat het allemaal nog bijzonderder maakt: Aho componeerde het nieuwe werk op maat van Lenaerts en Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen. Het werd een sensuele verkenning van een dromerig Arcadia. Een werk vol pastorale rust, met hier en daar een knipoog naar zijn muzikale inspiratiebron - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. 

Waar Aho zich laat beïnvloeden door Mozarts talent voor licht en gratie, kiest dirigent Adrien Perruchon voor de donkere kleuren uit Mozarts voorlaatste symfonie. Melancholisch en turbulent, vol treurende zuchten en stormende angst. Tragische gevoelens van razend onheil die ook in de ouverture van Mozarts opera Don Giovanni weerklinken, maar die telkens uitgebalanceerd worden met een positieve noot. Een ontroerend pleidooi voor het halfvolle glas.

Deux musiciennes belges, la harpiste Anneleen Lenaerts et la flûtiste Marina Piccini, créent un tout nouveau double concert du compositeur finnois Kalevi Aho. Cet événement est encore plus exceptionnel parce que l'œuvre a été composée sur mesure pour Lenaerts et le Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen. Le résultat est une exploration sensuelle d'une Arcadie rêveuse, remplie de sérénité pastorale et ponctuée de clins d'œil à la source d'inspiration musicale d'Aho, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Alors qu'Aho se laisse influencer par le talent de Mozart pour sa légèreté et sa grâce, le chef d'orchestre Adrien Perruchon opte pour les coloris sombres de l'avant-dernière symphonie de Mozart, mélancolique et turbulente, débordante de soupirs tristes et d'angoisse orageuse. On y retrouve les accents tragiques d'une catastrophe frénétique qui résonnent aussi dans l'ouverture de l'opéra de Mozart Don Giovanni, mais ils sont à chaque fois contrebalancés par une note positive. Un plaidoyer émouvant en faveur du « verre à moitié plein ».
