Long before the Second Viennese School, Franz Liszt wrote piano works that promoted the dissolution of tonality. Carlo Gesualdo's choral music appears just as avant-garde, its dissonant harmonies, which are still bold today, leaving the 16th century far behind. Thanks to pianist Cedric Pescia and Opus Vocale, the brainchild of the two visionaries meet in the Great Hall - which shows how amazingly expandable the seemingly traditional piano recital format can be.
