Unsere Artist in Residence, die Sopranistin Fatma Said, kommt aus Kairo und reist oft von Berlin in ihre Heimat. Dieses Mal bleibt sie bei uns im Großen Saal – und bricht trotzdem mit dem Konzerthausorchester Berlin und dem ganzen Publikum auf nach Ägypten. So etwas schafft Musik! Ein zusätzliches Glück ist, wenn man unterwegs Freunde trifft. Nicht nur Ravel und Saint-Saëns und ihre vom Süden inspirierte Musik begleiten uns ums Mittelmeer. Aus Ägypten kommen uns Mohie El Din und Abdel Wahab entgegen, in deren Werken Musik und Instrumente ihrer Heimat, aber auch Spuren europäischer Klassik stecken. Wie und wo sich alle zusammenfinden, erleben wir in diesem moderierten Nachmittagskonzert.

Our Artist in Residence, the soprano Fatma Said, comes from Cairo and often travels from Berlin to her home country. This time she stays with us in the Great Hall – and still sets off for Egypt with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the entire audience. That's what music creates! An additional happiness is when you meet friends along the way. Not only Ravel and Saint-Saëns and their music inspired by the south accompany us around the Mediterranean. We are met by Mohie El Din and Abdel Wahab from Egypt, whose works contain music and instruments from their homeland, but also traces of European classics. In this moderated afternoon concert, we experience how and where everyone comes together.
