During the concert crowning the NFM season of the Leopoldinum Orchestra and the NFM Choir, SAGA TRILOGY will be performed - a monumental work by Joseph Swensen, artistic director of the ensemble, and at the same time a versatile musician and composer. Waldemar Żarów, Marcin Misiak and Mirosław Mały will perform as soloists on the stage of the Red Hall.

Joseph Swensen, artistic director of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, is a valued conductor, and his interpretations of various works belonging to the canon of classical music and contemporary compositions are well known to the Wrocław audience. The concert will be an opportunity to listen to the world premiere of his latest work - SAGA TRILOGY .

“You could say it's three concerts. The solo parts will be performed by the musicians of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra. The stars of each section will be a double bassist, a cellist and a clarinetist. This piece will fill the entire programme, which makes over an hour of music. All links are interconnected, they use largely the same material, but - more importantly - they are elements of a very long story, which in a sense is a story about the universe. The first part is titled Primordial Earth , thus dealing with the Earth before the appearance of humans. The second is Saga , which is a story about people, and the third is Song of Infinity , which is imagining the experience after our death. It's really interesting because Sagawhich is a central part of life as we know it, is also a struggling, extremely difficult music for the cello. The last movement, with the viola and choir in the lead role, is full of joy. I felt very happy writing music for the NFM Choir, imagining the artists singing it while composing. And, of course, I wrote this composition for the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra,” says Joseph Swensen about his work.

Podczas koncertu wieńczącego sezon NFM Orkiestry Leopoldinum oraz Chóru NFM zabrzmi SAGA TRILOGY – monumentalne dzieło Josepha Swensena, dyrektora artystycznego zespołu, a zarazem wszechstronnego muzyka i kompozytora. W roli solistów na estradzie Sali Czerwonej wystąpią Waldemar Żarów, Marcin Misiak oraz Mirosław Mały.

Joseph Swensen, kierownik artystyczny NFM Orkiestry Leopoldinum, jest cenionym dyrygentem, a jego interpretacje rozmaitych dzieł należących do kanonu muzyki klasycznej oraz kompozycji współczesnych są doskonale znane wrocławskiej publiczności. Koncert będzie okazją do wysłuchania światowego prawykonania jego najnowszego utworu – SAGA TRILOGY.

„Można powiedzieć, że to trzy koncerty. Partie solowe wykonają muzycy NFM Orkiestry Leopoldinum. Gwiazdami poszczególnych ogniw będą kontrabasista, wiolonczelista i klarnecista. Utwór ten wypełni cały program, co daje ponad godzinę muzyki. Wszystkie ogniwa są ze sobą powiązane, operują w dużej mierze tym samym materiałem, ale – co ważniejsze – są elementami bardzo długiej historii, będącej w pewnym sensie opowieścią o wszechświecie. Pierwsza część nosi tytuł Primordial Earth, a więc dotyczy Ziemi przed pojawieniem się ludzi. Druga to Saga, która jest opowieścią o ludziach, a trzecia to Song of Infinity, czyli wyobrażenie sobie przeżyć po naszej śmierci. To naprawdę interesujące, ponieważ Saga, która jest centralną częścią życia, jakie znamy, to zarazem pełna zmagań, niezwykle trudna muzyka na wiolonczelę. Z kolei ostatnia część z altówką i chórem w roli głównej pełna jest radości. Czułem się bardzo szczęśliwy, pisząc muzykę dla Chóru NFM, wyobrażając sobie podczas komponowania, jak artyści to śpiewają. I oczywiście napisałem tę kompozycję dla NFM Orkiestry Leopoldinum” – tak mówi o swoim dziele Joseph Swensen.
