Vita Koreneva Signs Lyubasha in Tsar's Bride by N. Rimsky-Korsakov - Любаша в Царской Невесте

The Tsar's Bride - Rimsky-Korsakov - Lyubasha's Aria from Act 2 Vot do chego ya dozhila (Ария Любаши "Вот, до чего я дожила, Григорий".  
Vita Koreneva, mezzo-soprano, plays the character of Lyubasha, a tragic figure reduced to a mistress, who is full of controversy; it's a monologue of a woman who loved yet was abandoned by her lover, betrayed and ridiculed. 

The Tsar's Bride" is a historical opera by Rimsky-Korsakov, based on the 1849 drama by Lev Mei. The composer began writing in February 1898 and completed the work in 10 months, with its premiere taking place on October 22, 1899. The straightforward plot follows Marfa, betrothed to Lykov, who is chosen to be the bride of Ivan IV. Gryaznoy, who loves Marfa, is thwarted by his mistress Lyubasha who poisons Marfa out of jealousy. In the final scene, Gryaznoy admits his guilt, Lyubasha confesses to poisoning Marfa and is killed by Gryaznoy, who is taken to prison.
