Als musikalischer Botschafter Niedersachsens genießt die NDR Radiophilharmonie weit über das Sendegebiet des NDR hinaus einen hervorragenden Ruf. Regelmäßige Rundfunkübertragungen, Gastspiele und Tourneen im In- und Ausland sowie nicht zuletzt unzählige CD-Produktionen sprechen immer wieder für die hohe künstlerische Qualität, die außergewöhnliche programmatische Vielfalt und das internationale Renommee des 1950 in der niedersächsischen Landeshauptstadt gegründeten und beheimateten Orchesters. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt gemäß des Kulturauftrags auf der Entwicklung von innovativen Konzertformaten.

Marc Albrecht, geprägt von seinem Mentor Claudio Abbado, ist einer der spannendsten Dirigenten der aktuellen Opern- und Konzertszene. er ist als Dirigent des deutschösterreichischen spätromantischen Repertoires von Wagner über Strauss bis Korngold international gefragt und pflegt darüber hinaus mit Überzeugung die ganze Bandbreite von Mozart bis zur zeitgenössischen Musik. Er erhielt u.a. 2019 den International Opera Award als „Dirigent des Jahres“ und wurde für sein umfangreiches Schaffen 2020 zum Ritter des Ordens des niederländischen Löwen ernannt.

Dejan Lazićs erfrischende Interpretationen des Repertoires haben ihn zu einem der einzigartigsten und ungewöhnlichsten Solisten seiner Generation gemacht. Das Spiegel Magazin notierte zu seiner Liszt-Aufnahme für Onyx Classics: „Grandiose Technik, engagiert und witzig, dabei vollmundig und nachdenklich: Dieser Längsschnitt durch Liszts Schaffen ist ein Geschenk, sowohl für Einsteiger als auch für Kenner.“

As a musical ambassador for Lower Saxony, the NDR Radio Philharmonic enjoys an excellent reputation far beyond the broadcasting area of ​​NDR. Regular radio broadcasts, guest performances and tours at home and abroad as well as countless CD productions speak time and again for the high artistic quality, the extraordinary programmatic diversity and the international reputation of the orchestra, which was founded in 1950 and is based in the Lower Saxony state capital. In accordance with the cultural mandate, a special focus is on the development of innovative concert formats.

Marc Albert, shaped by his mentor Claudio Abbado, is one of the most exciting conductors on the current opera and concert scene. He is in international demand as a conductor of the German-Austrian late-Romantic repertoire from Wagner to Strauss to Korngold and, in addition, he cultivates the entire spectrum from Mozart to contemporary music with conviction.
