The little mole wakes up one morning, sticks his head out of the ground, and someone puts his pile on it. Was it the horse, was it the rabbit or was it the cow? The agitated mole goes out and asks. He encounters a wide variety of blobs, dumplings, flat cakes and beans.

The child-friendly opera is based on the picture book bestseller of the same name by Werner Holzwarth and Wolf Erlbruch, which has not only delighted the little ones among us for more than 30 years. In 2017, the Wuppertal illustrator Wolf Erlbruch received the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Prize, one of the highest international awards for authors of children's books. Director Ela Baumann, who has won several awards for her productions for young audiences, is developing a new music theater piece together with composer Elisabeth Naske that invites you to laugh, marvel and discover. A co-production with the Musiktheater im Revier, Gelsenkirchen.
