Jordi Savall had to cancel his participation in the “Christmas Oratorio” project on January 5th and 6th, 2022 in the Graz Minoritensaal due to an illness that is currently making it impossible for him to travel to Austria. The house of Styriarte would like to sincerely thank Mr. Michael Hell for taking over the management of this production at such short notice.

Instead of the contralto Raffaele Pe, who was also unable to perform, Ms. Margot Oitzinger jumped into the production at very short notice.

Bach's Christmas Oratorio in January? Recreation, directed by Michael Hell, brings parts 4 through 6 in the correct festive season between New Year's and Epiphany. Those in the know have long known that they are undeservedly overshadowed by parts 1 to 3. For tenor Gernot Heinrich and soprano Maria Ladurner, these parts offer the most rewarding arias. The Camerata Styria can look forward to three of Bach's most beautiful opening choruses and beautiful chorales.
