Youkali - this is the name of a fictitious island of the peaceful, where all the world's persecuted and displaced people could one day find refuge. A kind of utopia that Kurt Weill created in his 1934 chanson of the same name while fleeing from the National Socialists and which is the melancholy center of this special song recital.

Youkali – so heißt eine fiktive Insel der Friedfertigen, auf der einst alle Verfolgten und Vertriebenen dieser Welt Zuflucht finden könnten. Eine Art Utopia also, die Kurt Weill in seinem gleichnamigen Chanson 1934 auf der Flucht vor den Nationalsozialisten entwirft und die das melancholische Zentrum dieses besonderen Liederabends ist.
