Biography
Sergi Roca Bru is internationally active as a guest conductor and serves as 1st resident conductor (Kapellmeister) and substitute general music director at the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater in Flensburg. His “fine musical instinct” and his “honest, uncompromising interpretations” characterize an energetic yet subtle style at the podium. With over 25 operas and operettas and by conducting numerous orchestras, he has acquired a broad repertoire in symphonic music as well as opera and ballet. The tasks ahead of him at Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater in the season 2023/24 include conducting Peter Grimes and La Traviata, the musical direction of the productions The Firebird, Der arme Jonathan, and Sweeney Todd as well as several concerts.
