Bio: Born in La Spezia, Giuliano Betta is actually on charge as 1 Kapellmeister and deputy music director of Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen. Here he has directed numerous titles, including Giuseppe Verdi's Nabucco, Bizet's Perle Fishermen, Bernstein's Mass, Weinberger's Schwanda and the "Strawinsky" Ballet in which two great works of the Russian composer are performed: Les Noces and Sacre du Primtemps. From 2014 to 2018 he conducted, among others, always with a remarkable success, L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti at Koblenz Theatre (Germany) staged by Alexander von Pfeil, Tosca by Puccini at Teatro Massimo of Palermo (Italy) staged by Mario Pontiggia, Die Zauberflöte by Mozart at Deutschen Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf (Germany) staged by Suzanne Andrade and Barry Koskyand Rigoletto by Verdi at the Oper Schenkenberg staged by Giancarlo del Monaco. From 2009 until 2015 he was first Kappelmeister (without appointed musical Director) at Basel Theatre (Switzerland) where he conducted several productions both of Opera and Ballet leading the Basel Symphonic Orchestra. Just to mention a few: Parsifal staged by Benedikt von Peter, Otello staged by Calixto Bieito, Lohengrin and Un ballo in maschera staged by Vera Nemirova. As for the symphonic repertoire Giuliano Betta cooperated with orchestras such Dortmunder Philarmonikern, Philharmonie Südwestafalen, Neue Philarmonie Westfalen, Nordwestdeutschen Philarmonie (Germany) and the Tiroler Festspiele Orchestra of Erl (Austria). From 2003 to 2009 he was Kapelmeister, Director of coaches and assistant of musical Director at Krefeld-Mönchengladbach Theatre (Germany), where from 2005 he was also appointed as responsible for the preparation of the Niederrheinischen Konzertchor. On his numerous tours Giuliano Betta traveled Holland, Belgium, England, but also Russia, Korea and Japan with the opera guest performance Le nozze di Figaro in Nagoja, Sapporo, and in the famous theater Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo.
