Cambridge Handel Opera Company (CHOC) mounts productions of Baroque operas that celebrate the fusion of music and the stage, with performances that trust the composer and are not just ‘historically informed’, but ‘historically inspired’. In our productions, vibrant synergy between music and stage respects the integrity of the work and conveys its coherence and passion. Baroque stagecraft is incorporated in a manner that speaks to audiences directly and excitingly.

Performances are led from the harpsichord by Artistic Director Julian Perkins. The company unites the best of youth and experience, with casts that combine upcoming stars and more established solo singers, and an orchestra in which leading professionals rehearse and perform alongside advanced students.
