Dan Pelleg

At the age of twenty-one, Dan Pelleg received the Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Program scholarship at the Tel Aviv University to study musicology and linguistics while completing his professional dance education at the Bat Dor Dance School. After a two-year employment with the Ensemble Batsheva under the artistic direction of Ohad Naharin and Naomi Perlov, he moved to Berlin, where in 1999, with Marko E. Weigert and Sommer Ulrickson, he founded the wee dance company, which for twelve years operated there as an independent dance company. When in August 2011 Pelleg and Weigert were appointed heads of the dance department at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau, the wee dance company became the theatre's permanent dance company for the subsequent 13 years (until the end of July 2024)
