Biography
Katie began her musical journey competing as a young pianist and on stage as part of the Langley Ukulele Ensemble. She is an alumna of Kwantlen Polytechnic University and graduated with a Masters of Music in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia. During her studies, Katie sang the roles of Dorabella in Cosí fan tutte, Nicklausse in Les contes d'Hoffmann, and Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. Her awards include first place in voice at the Canadian National Music Festival, a young artist's encouragement award at the Metropolitan Opera Western Canadian District Auditions, second prize in the International Summer Academy's Richard Strauss Wettbewerb at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and a concert engagement in Japan from the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques Competition i
