Auf die Frage was er von Pergolesi hält, antwortete Strawinsky: »Pergolesi… ach ja, Pulcinella!!!« Und Poulenc, der Mozarts Musik gleichermaßen wie »Pulcinella« bewunderte, schuf, wie Strawinsky, für Diaghilev und seine Ballets Russes ein ebenso humorvolles Ballet, »Les Biches«, kongenial Mozart, Jazz und »Pulcinella« verbindend. Und da wir hier lustvoll und schon fast dadaistisch mit Barockmusik umgehen, sollte auch das Rameau-Pastiche des ewigen originellen Albéric Magnard nicht fehlen. Ein Barockkonzert der ganz besonderen Art, in dessen Mittelpunkt Albrecht Mayer, Solo-Oboist der Berliner Philharmoniker, populäre und stilvolle Händel-Bearbeitungen präsentiert – als Referenz an Händel und seine Festspiele in Halle.

When asked what he thought of Pergolesi, Stravinsky replied: »Pergolesi… oh yes, Pulcinella!!!« And Poulenc, who admired Mozart's music as much as »Pulcinella«, like Stravinsky, created an equally humorous one for Diaghilev and his Ballets Russes Ballet, »Les Biches«, congenially combining Mozart, jazz and »Pulcinella«. And since we are dealing with baroque music with relish and almost Dadaistically, the Rameau pastiche by the eternally original Albéric Magnard should not be missing. A baroque concert of a very special kind, at the center of which Albrecht Mayer, principal oboist of the Berlin Philharmonic, presents popular and stylish Handel arrangements - as a reference to Handel and his Halle Festival.
