Disneys Fantasia aus dem Jahr 1940 gehört zu den großen Filmklassikern. Hier wurde aus bestehenden Werken ein Konzertprogramm kreiert, zu dem Disney Bilder geschaffen hat, wie die berühmte Szene mit Mickey Mouse als Zauberlehrling zu Paul Dukas gleichnamiger Vertonung. Amilcare Ponchiellis Tanz der Stunden und Modest Mussorgskis Sinfonische Dichtung Eine Nacht auf dem kahlen Berg wurden ebenfalls von Disney für den Film adaptiert. Der oder die Osnabrücker Musikpreisträger:in wird als Artist in Residence mit einem Stück dabei sein, welches sich ebenfalls in das Genre Filmmusik einreiht. Zum Abschluss erklingt die Suite aus Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen von John Williams, einem der bekanntesten Filmkomponisten der Gegenwart.

Der Osnabrücker Musikpreis wird ermöglicht durch die Felicitas und Werner Egerland-Stiftung.

Disney's Fantasia from 1940 is one of the great film classics. A concert program was created here from existing works, for which Disney created images such as the famous scene with Mickey Mouse as a sorcerer's apprentice to Paul Duka's setting of the same name. Amilcare Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours and Modest Mussorgsky's symphonic poem Night on Bald Mountain were also adapted for the film by Disney. The Osnabrück Music Prize winner will be there as artist in residence with a piece that also belongs to the film music genre. Finally, the suite from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by John Williams, one of the most well-known film composers of our time, will be heard.
