Join us in welcoming Brooklyn’s own Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen for his Carnegie Hall debut recital. A rising star of opera and art song, the countertenor has been called an “extravagantly gifted” (San Francisco Chronicle) and “astonishingly beautiful” singer (The Guardian). When he won the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions Grand Finals, The New York Times wrote, “Expressive yet dignified, his phrasing confident and his ornamentation stylishly discreet, he brought tears to my eyes.” In the intimate Weill Recital Hall, he performs an eclectic program that includes R. Schumann’s Liederkreis, Op. 39; plus songs by Korngold, C. Schumann, Brahms, Janowski, Ravel, Leslie Adams, Price, Jake Heggie, and Handel alongside the exceptional collaborative pianist John Churchwell.
