The character of Carmen is processed in many forms - in the literary Prosper Merimé, in the opera Georges Bizet, or in the ballet to the music of Rodion Ščedrin, while his composition was based mainly on the opera. Director and choreographer Dana Dinková created a performance which, in addition to the symbiosis of these artistic gems, also includes the charm of flamenco rhythm. It is in the flamenco adaptation that Carmen's most famous arias are heard, vocally interpreted in an operatic spirit. The performance tells the story of a Spanish sergeant who succumbed to the seduction of a beautiful Gypsy and eventually became her killer. The story is transformed mainly into dance, but the director enriched it with singing and a spoken monologue. Our story is based on four main characters - Carmen, José, Toreador and Michael. Their destinies and life situations are controlled by the character of Věštice - Death. With his monologues and songs, he speaks to the main characters and forces them to think about life. Her monologues are not only intended for the main hero of the story, but especially for the audience. The performance sets the mirror of our company in a way, because its plot is and will always be up to date. The viewer should not have guessed when the story is taking place, whether in 1845 or today. Carmen is a spirited story, full of emotions - the story of a woman who is looking for love.
