Opereta compuesta y escrita por Pauline Viardot, una de las mejores y más influyentes cantantes de su tiempo. Original para piano y siete voces, Viardot concibió la obra para representarla en casa suya para halagar los amigos.

Se estrenó en París el 23 de Abril de 1904.

Cendrillon se duerme, pero una hada la despierta y, con su magia, la viste de gala y le pone en una carroza para asistir al baile.

Solo hay una condición: deberá volver a casa a medianoche.
