Così fan tutte is perhaps Mozart's most brilliant opera musically. At the same time, the plot puts ants in the head of a contemporary audience: what is it really about The German award-winning director Ulrike Schwab makes her first set in Sweden with an updated set that dares to take love seriously , which shifts perspectives and puts Mozart's comic opera in a delirious and timeless light.

Two young couples are planning their wedding but at the same time begin to doubt. Is it now only "all work and no play" that remains? Does "happy in all its days" mean that we have to give up all our dreams? Is it possible to play one last time and at the same time expose love to a stress test?

“For me, Così fan tutte revolves around the question of how expectations and self-imposed limitations put sticks in the wheels of close relationships. In this set, we meet two young couples who decide to seriously learn something in the "school for lovers". They expose themselves to an experiment and plunge into an emotional labyrinth of truth and lies, fiction and reality, love and desire, ” says Ulrike Schwab , director .

Ulrike Schwab is a German opera director who has been praised and praised for her creative readings of classical works. She is an opera singer at heart and has a personal and playful relationship with the music in the works she tackles. She challenges both singers 'and musicians' habitual ways of singing and playing, which democratizes the process and leads to new stage expressions. This was especially clear in the famous version of Giovanni - eine Passion at the Neuköllner Opera in Berlin, where she turned Mozart's masterpiece in an idiosyncratic, humorous and at the same time respectful way.
