He, village judge Adam, fell out of bed, then tripped over himself and therefore had to hold court with his amazingly battered face and unfortunately also without a wig: Mrs. Marthe brought charges against Ruprecht, he had the smashed a valuable jar during late-night meetings with her daughter Eve. Ruprecht denies this and instead accuses his fiancée Eve of infidelity – he caught her with someone else who fled unrecognized. Eve is silent. This Adam's fall is just the first lie the judge will tell in the course of the trial. With the help of the court counselor Walter, who had arrived and was actively supported by the writer Licht, the case soon became clear: it was about abuse. The audacity with which Adam distracts from himself as the perpetrator, rejects all responsibility and wants to cement the existing balance of power turns the drama into a comedy.
