f you are already singing a main role at the tender age of 11, nothing can frighten you that easily. Canadian soprano Emily Dorn took her first steps on stage with a vocal role at the legendary Cirque du Soleil.
Today, on the other hand, she embodies the great female roles of opera and operetta literature: She masters the dramatic coloratura of Violetta in Verdi's “La Traviata” as well as the lyrical tones of Pamina in Mozart's “Magic Flute”.


Now the soprano sings the title role in Franz Lehár's “The Merry Widow”, this classic operetta about rich women and bankrupt men.
The millionaire Hanna Glawari is supposed to marry the fun-loving Count Danilo - and with her money help the indebted state of Pontevedro on the jumps. At least that is how the state political dilettantes imagine it. But the Countess and Count have other plans - all the more so since they were already a couple. After a little resentment between the two, the bear market of love and state stocks seems to be unstoppable. But thanks to a daring volte, there is still a happy ending.
