A high-tech treatment of the most famous act in Wagner’s Ring Cycle makes this an experience you will not want to miss. Detroit Opera’s own Yuval Sharon and Christine Goerke join forces in this unique production which zooms in on the drama of Act III, beginning with the unforgettable “Ride of the Valkyries” and ending with “Magic Fire Music.”

Using Unreal Engine, the same 3D computer graphics game engine utilized for games like Fortnite, performers will act in real-time in front of a greenscreen, and simultaneously be placed into a retro-futuristic digital world viewable in real time on three giant, immersive 20 foot screens. This combination of live performance and projected digital environment will allow you to experience some truly stunning moments – with some performers growing in size and towering over others or traveling at high speed through dynamic environments: bringing Wagner’s fantastical world to vivid life as you’ve never seen before.
