2019 Čarobna piščal / The Magic Flute TRAILER

The Magic Flute (1791) was created by the composer at the end of his life and is considered to be Mozart's most frequently performed opera and at the same time the rich iron repertoire of every opera house. This opera is the only work the composer has created in a short creative swing for the Vienna suburban theater Freihaustheater auf der Wieden and in which he collaborated with librettist and actor Emanuel Schikaneder, producer and director of this theater. At the same time, it is Mozart's only work based on the tradition of Vienna's Volkstheater, magical operas and so-called mechanical comedies. The Magic Flute is a distinctly different and atypical composer's work of art also in terms of the story itself, the characters and the stage effects, at the same time, it is a completely logical continuation of his creative opus from the point of view of the treatment of themes stimulated by the Enlightenment. The opera story is based on the dramatization of content about the individual search for emotional fulfillment. Through the fairy tale, the work of art speaks about the situation in the then Enlightenment society, which brought far-reaching social changes. Full of imaginative scenes, fantasy elements and magical talismans, it always appeals to a generationally very diverse audience

Directed by the successful Slovenian theater director Jaša Koceli, who collaborated with us in the creation and implementation of the novelty Julka and Janez on Stage -3. The musical direction of the performance will be in the hands of maestro Jaroslav Kyzlink.
