Don Giovanni hunts down the women who succumb to his attraction one after another: at night he visits Donna Anna in her bedroom. Donna Elvira, on the other hand, constantly follows him to
to convert him even though he has forsaken her. He seduces the farmer Zerlina on her wedding day with the promise of a better life. But society is also hunting down Don Giovanni, as he has turned husbands, fiancés and fathers against him through his behavior. After all, he even challenges higher powers: He cockily invites the statue of the commander who he murdered to a feast. This gives him one last chance to change his life or go to hell ...
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Don Giovanni is considered the "opera of all operas". The plot skilfully interweaves cheerful and tragic elements. Mozart's music explores the various shades of the human soul with psychological sensitivity, sometimes ironically, sometimes extremely touching, and thus shows us our dependence on our own instincts and longings.
