When, in 1787, Figaro traveled from Vienna to Prague, such was his success that the authors received a commission for an opera for the following season. The hours are counted: they will have to quickly enlarge a short Venetian libretto taken from an old popular tale. Thus was born Don Giovanni . Grandeur and baseness of the libertine that Mozart elevates to the rank of universal myth. Chérubin has gained confidence and the attraction he exerts on the "petticoats" is accompanied by a strong smell of sulphur. It is Alexandre Duhamel, familiar with the Bordeaux scene ( La Périchole , Manon , Pelléas and Mélisande ), who will lend his powerful and beguiling voice to the serial-lover.
