Don Giovanni is the second of the three Italian operas that the composer from Salzburg wrote on a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte (who at that time was in the service of the Emperor of Austria). Over the years the Don Giovanni became more and more famous, so much so that it became the work par excellence of the romantic nineteenth century.
The vocal cast has been entrusted for this new staging to the young winners of the 65th As.Li.Co. which will be led by Graham Vick. Famous English opera director and artistic director of the Birmingham Opera Company, he collaborates with the main national and international theaters including Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Metropolitan Opera in New York, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London, in addition to the theaters of Monaco, Paris and Chicago and with the most famous wands (Riccardo Muti, Bernard Haitink, Zubin Mehta, Andrew Davis).
The young Spanish conductor José Luis Gomez-Rios in 2010 won the first prize at the International Sir Georg Solti Conductor's Competition in Frankfurt and was immediately called to collaborate with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra where he still works today.
