The Lavapiés barber contains the musical force of an era, in some way it is a perfect synthesis of classic and popular forms to which Barbieri adds his genius of creativity. Larra and Barbieri loved life and it shows in each of the notes of this performance and in each of the words, so the artistic team of this production has tried to follow the current and the influence that we have been fortunate to inherit. . El barberillo is a love story between Paloma and Lamparilla that is not consummated until the end of the work due to political-conspiratorial obligations that must be attended first to save Spain. The comic and adventurous tone of the show is what we have promoted without ever forgetting that both are linked to the search for beauty. And on this matter I would like to emphasize. I have always understood comedy and adventure as a great aesthetic experience through which I have wanted to synthesize my experience in life. The depth of life and its difficult conflicts require the vision of comedy to find liberating solutions. The barber hovers over political and social reality thanks to the ability of his characters to surf difficulties. The music and the plot of El barberillo make our neurons find unexpected and brilliant connections, that is why I would like to invite you to enjoy this function as if it had been written yesterday because that is what we have all felt when doing it. I want to thank everyone. To all the cast that I admire so much. To all the artistic team with whom I have made this staging.
