Gianni Schicchi Puccini (+1 More)

One-act operas often find themselves in the "second sequence" of our interest. After all, the smaller time plan they have at their disposal may be the reason why a dramatic story of a more serious scope and message does not unfold in the work. Plus, shorter operas need to be combined to make the whole opera night together. However, Puccini's two one-act plays guarantee a refreshing genre contrast between these works: after all, if the first of them, Cloak , introduces us to the world of poor sailors on the Seine in Paris and tells the tragic story of brutal murder out of jealousy, the second, Gianni Schicchi , is a comic story about a dying lord , around which the whirlwind of the legacy of greedy relatives revolves.

The original production Triptych ( Sister Angelika, Plášť, Gianni Schicchi ) was co-produced with the Opera of the Moravian-Silesian National Theater in Ostrava.

Opera Gianni Schicchi je komickým príbehom o zomierajúcom zámožnom pánovi, okolo ktorého sa roztočí vír dedičstva zažiadaných príbuzných. Pucciniho skvelá hudobná komédia má pozoruhodnú zápletku: zomrel bohatý pán a jeho široká rodina chce mať istotu, že v závete bude všetko tak, ako má byť. Preto pozvú beťára Schicchiho, aby si ľahol do postele po mŕtvom, pred notárom predstieral, že ešte žije – a všetky majetky prepísal na tých „správnych“ dedičov. Gianni však dá statky v prítomnosti šokovanej rodiny prepísať sám na seba a na svoju dcéru! Čaká vás hodina skvelého divadla, rafinovanej hudby a vtipu.
 
Pôvodná inscenácia Triptych (Sestra Angelika, Plášť, Gianni Schicchi) vznikla v koprodukcii s Operou Národného divadla moravskosliezskeho v Ostrave.
