Whether by Stéphane Degout or Angelika Kirschlager, the Briton Simon Lepper is one of the most sought-after accompanists. A regular guest at the Wednesday Concerts, he returns to us this season with the young English baritone Huw Montague Rendall , noticed last season for his role in Pelléas et Mélisande at the Opéra de Rouen.
From Fauré to Vaughan Williams, the baritone, who was a member of the International Opera Studio in Zurich and of the prestigious Young Artist Program in Salzburg, opens up to us a world of secret gardens and subtle colors organized from the poems of Verlaine, and invites us to follow in the footsteps of a solitary traveler on the paths of life, through shimmering melodies composed on poems by Stevenson.
