More than half a century after its creation and almost thirty years after its legendary Czech premiere at the Spirála Theatre in Prague, the cult rock musical about the last days of Jesus Christ will finally be performed in Pilsen. In their timeless work, the famous duo of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice present Judas Iscariot’s view of the story that has essentially influenced the history of Western civilization for two thousand years. They follow the life stories of Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, Christ’s disciples and followers as well as opponents from Jesus’ famous arrival in Jerusalem to his crucifixion. This completely new version, with young Pilsen cast, brings to the stage of the J.K. Tyl Theatre's New Theatre all the famous hits, such as “Superstar”, “Gethsemane (I Only Want to Say)”, etc. You are guaranteed to be captivated by this phenomenal work, which has fascinated millions of viewers of several generations all over the world!
