A difficult work, at times almost impossible and above all a formidable and even a bit risky test for a young tenor ... I auditioned and they assigned me the role. The production was a great success and opened the doors of international theaters to me, laying the foundations for my career even outside Italy. In the wake of this success, the proposal to inaugurate the Teatri Giordano in Foggia at the end of 1988 soon arrived, with the same title that had never been performed in the native city of the Apulian composer. Even in that circumstance the success arrived truly incredible sealed and amplified also by the record recording made by Bongiovanni. This production followed my debut in I VESPRI SICILIANI in Barletta and chronologically preceded the performance in Parma of UN BALLO IN MASCHERA which I have previously published on this channel.
