W listopadzie 2008 roku w Lublinie miało miejsce wyjątkowe wydarzenie, które zgromadziło w Hali Globus ponad siedem tysięcy osób. Teatr Muzyczny w Lublinie zaprezentował przybyłej tak licznie publiczności operę Giuseppe Verdiego - „La Traviata”.

Z racji Jubileuszu 75-lecia Teatru Muzycznego w Lublinie postanowiliśmy wznowić tę produkcję i zaprosić Widzów na ten wspaniały spektakl.

Akcja opery rozgrywa się w Paryżu i pod Paryżem w 2. połowie XIX wieku. Opowiada historię kurtyzany Violetty Valery, w której zakochuje się młody poeta Alfred Germont. Violetta skuszona wizją życia u boku przystojnego Alfreda porzuca swojego protektora Barona Douphola i z wielkiego balu trafia do wiejskiej posiadłości gdzie zaczyna sielskie życie. Jednak cieniem na tej sytuacji kładzie się choroba Violetty oraz uszczuplające się oszczędności. Uświadomiony przez siostrę Violetty Anninę Alfred wyjeżdża do Paryża by zdobyć pieniądze, a w tym czasie jego ojciec składa byłej kurtyzanie wizytę by przekonać ją do porzucenia Alfreda, gdyż mezalians jest szkodliwy dla małżeńskich planów jego siostry. Violetta ulega wreszcie namowom Giorgia i wyjeżdża do stolicy Francji by wrócić do poprzedniego stylu życia. W ślad za nią rusza Alfred, który na balu doprowadza do konfrontacji między nim a Baronem Douphol oraz samą kochanką. Skandaliczne zachowanie w efekcie kończy się wyzwaniem na pojedynek. Violetta umęczona i schorowana zmaga się z cierpieniem w samotności i tak zastaję ją Alfred, który po jakimś czasie wraca z dalekiej podróży. W końcu dowiedział się o chorobie i poświęceniu kochanki, wybłagał też u ojca zgodę na ślub z Violettą. Na szczęśliwe zakończenie jest już za późno, Violetta umiera w ramionach ukochanego.

Libretto opery "La Traviata" napisane przez F. M. Piave oparte jest na powieści A. Dumasa "Dama Kameliowa" i stanowi jedną z najciekawszych i najmądrzejszych historii w dziejach opery światowej. Powszechnie uznaje się "Traviatę" za najdoskonalsze dzieło Verdiego, w którym muzyka idealnie konweniuje z kameralnym nastrojem tworzonym przez artystów.

In November 2008, a unique event took place in Lublin, which gathered over seven thousand people in the Globus Hall. The Musical Theater in Lublin presented Giuseppe Verdi's opera "La Traviata" to the large audience.

Due to the Jubilee of the 75th anniversary of the Musical Theater in Lublin, we decided to resume this production and invite the viewers to this wonderful show.

The action of the opera takes place in and outside Paris in the second half of the 19th century. It tells the story of the courtesan Violetta Valera, with whom the young poet Alfred Germont falls in love. Violetta, tempted by the vision of living with the handsome Alfred, leaves her protector Baron Douphol and ends up at a great ball in a country estate where she begins an idyllic life. However, this situation is overshadowed by Violetta's illness and depleting savings. Informed by Violetta's sister Annina, Alfred leaves for Paris to get money, while his father pays a visit to the former courtesan to convince her to abandon Alfred, as the misalliance is detrimental to his sister's marriage plans. Violetta finally succumbs to Giorgio's persuasions and leaves for the capital of France to return to her previous lifestyle. Alfred follows her which at the ball leads to a confrontation between him and Baron Douphol and the mistress herself. The outrageous behavior ends up being challenged to a duel. Violetta, tired and ill, struggles with suffering alone and this is how Alfred finds her, who returns from a long journey after some time. Finally, he found out about his lover's illness and sacrifice, and he also begged his father's consent to marry Violetta. It's too late for a happy ending, Violetta dies in her beloved's arms. he also begged his father to let him marry Violetta. The libretto of the opera "La Traviata" written by FM Piave is based on the novel "The Lady of the Camellias" by A. Dumas and is one of the most interesting and wisest stories in the history of world opera. La Traviata is widely regarded as Verdi's most perfect work, in which the music perfectly converges with the intimate atmosphere created by the artists.
