A testosterone-controlled count tries to prevent the planned wedding of his personal servant by all means in order to be able to seduce his bride. But this allies itself with the wife of the count, and together the two try to escape his maddened advances and attacks of jealousy. At the end of this great day, during which all masks fall, the women set a midnight trap for the count. When he taps into it, a small miracle takes place: the count repents and kneels down to beg her pardon
from his wife ... The world premiere of Le nozze di Figaro1786 at the Vienna Burgtheater was Mozart's first collaboration with Lorenzo Da Ponte. Since the underlying French comedy by Beaumarchais was banned in Vienna, Da Ponte deleted part of the political content, but he and Mozart achieved an unparalleled comedic masterpiece in which all emotions are penetrated to the last. In this turbulent world theater of love , a relentless portrayal of morals develops into a social and erotic utopia in which all people, regardless of their gender, social origin and position, have equal rights.
