For their musical excursion to America, the KAP receives support from THE ambassador of American song singing par excellence: Thomas Hampson. He sings songs, operas, oratorios, musicals, is editor, researcher, educator, all over the world - no wonder that the Library of Congress has given him the “Living Legend Award”. The "Old American Songs" bring the history of American music to life, while the cool "Manhattan Broadcasts" by HK Gruber lead directly into New York of the 20th century. Thoughtful tones in Eisler's “Ernste Gesänge” show the enormous versatility of the famous baritone. The conductor, who is also visiting KAP for the first time, is Anja Bihlmaier, chief conductor of the Residentie Orkest in The Hague.

Er singt Lied, Oper, Oratorium, Musical, ist Herausgeber, Forscher, Pädagoge, und das überall auf der Welt – kein Wunder, dass die Library of Congress ihm den „Living Legend Award“ verliehen hat. Die „Old American Songs“ lassen die Geschichte der amerikanischen Musik lebendig werden, während die coolen „Manhattan Broadcasts“ von H. K. Gruber direkt ins New York des 20. Jahrhunderts hineinführen. Nachdenkliche Töne in Eislers „Ernsten Gesängen“ zeigen die enorme Wandlungsfähigkeit des berühmten Baritons. Dirigentin, und ebenfalls erstmalig bei der KAP zu Gast, ist Anja Bihlmaier, Chefdirigentin des Residentie Orkest in Den Haag.
