Les Grands Ballets Canadiens sorkuntza- eta produkzio-konpainia bat da, dantzaren forma guztiak lantzen dituena, ballet klasikoaren diziplinan oinarrituta. Ivan Cavallariren zuzendaritza artistikoaren pean, balletaren klasiko handiak taularatzen ari dira Kanadako eta nazioarteko berrogeita hamar bat dantzari, bai eta puntako artista garaikide berrien sorkuntzak ere. Bere produkzio bikainekin, konpainiak aurkikuntzak eta emozioak eragin nahi ditu, eta irudimena suspertu, dantzaren pasioa transmititu eta inpaktu iraunkorra sortu.

Uwe Scholz zendutako koreografoaren 7. sinfoniaren bidez, dantzariak harreman sinbiotiko batean sartzen dira Beethovenen musika itzelarekin. Obra hau leitmotiv bat da, trebetasun atletikoa eta dantzaren geometria bateratuta.

Senez eta bizitzaz beteta, gizonen eta emakumeen arteko harremanaren alderdi anitzak aztertzen ditu dantzak: sedukzioa, pasioa, borrokak, jeloskortasuna… XVIII. eta XIX. mendeetako Italiako musika-tradizioan inspiratuta dago Cantata; sehaska-kantetan, Salentoko pizzichietan, Napoliko serenatetan… Lau abeslarien ahotsek eta musikak hamar dantzari-bikoteak gidatzen dituzte, Italia hegoaldeko jai-giroan.

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens es una compañía de creación y producción dedicada al desarrollo de la danza en todas sus formas, basada en la
disciplina del ballet clásico. Bajo la dirección artística de Ivan Cavallari, cerca de cincuenta bailarines canadienses e internacionales, llevan a escena los grandes clásicos del ballet, así como las creaciones de artistas contemporáneos punteros y emergentes. Con sus excelentes producciones la compañía
pretende suscitar descubrimientos y emociones, estimular la imaginación, transmitir la pasión de la danza y crear un impacto duradero.

Con la Sinfonía nº 7, del fallecido coreógrafo Uwe Scholz, los bailarines entran en una relación simbiótica con la imponente música de Beethoven. La
obra se convierte en un leitmotiv, con su destreza atlética y su geometría de danza al unísono.

Con sus gestos viscerales y apasionados, Cantata, de Mauro Bigonzetti, evoca la belleza agreste del Mediterráneo y despliega los colores del Sur. Instintiva y vital, la danza explora las múltiples facetas de la relación entre hombres y mujeres: seducción, pasión, peleas, celos… Cantata se inspira en la tradición musical italiana de los siglos XVIII y XIX, desde las nanas a las pizziche de Salento, pasando por serenatas napolitanas. Las voces y la música en directo de los cuatro cantantes conducen a las diez parejas de bailarines en el ambiente festivo y popular del sur de Italia.

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens is a company whose creation and production develops all forms of dance, based on classical ballet. Under the artistic direction of Ivan Cavallari, almost fifty Canadian and international dancers bring ballet’s great classics to the stage, alongside creations by cutting-edge and emerging modern artists. The company’s excellent productions attempt to arouse discoveries and emotions, stimulate the imagination, putting across their passion for dance and making a long-lasting impact.

With Symphony No. 7, by the late choreographer Uwe Scholz, the dancers enter a symbiotic relationship with Beethoven’s imposing music. The work has become a leitmotif, with its athletic skills and its geometry of dancing in unison.

The visceral and passionate moves of Cantata, by Mauro Bigonzetti, evoke the wild beauty of the Mediterranean and unfold the colours of the South. Instinctive and vital, the dance explores the multiple facets of the relationship between men and women: seduction, passion, fighting, jealousy, etc. Cantata is inspired by the 18th and 19th century Italian musical tradition, from lullabies to Salento’s pizziche, including Neapolitan serenades. The voices and music of the four singers lead the ten pairs of dancers through Southern Italy’s popular festive atmosphere.
