The Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion continues in this artistic period the dedicated cycle of Ludwig van Beethoven 250! with a concert exclusively of the composer's orchestral works. The Athens Philharmonic Orchestra (FOA) presents under the direction of the internationally renowned chief musician Myronas Michaelides three of the most representative works of the composer for orchestral ensemble and soloist. The famous pianist Kyprianos Katsaris performs on the piano. This is the Introduction of Egmond, No. 84, a work composed by Beethoven between 1809 and 1810 for the play of the same name by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, which chronicles the heroic self-sacrifice of the Flemish warrior Egmond. The Introduction is the most famous of the parts of the work and its style is similar to that of its 5th Symphony. Next is the Piano Concerto, No. 3 in Do Elassona, No. 37, a work composed in 1800, uniquely performed by the two internationally awarded musicians, the pianist Kyprianos Katsaris and the chief musician Myron Michailidis. The program is completed with Agreement No. 5 in Do Elassona, No. 67, a work completed in 1807. It is the most famous of Beethoven's Symphonies and one of the most popular and frequently performed works of classical music. With a great concert of symphonic music, including, among others, the most famous famous Fifth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, the collaboration of the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra with the Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion continued. . Celebrations were postponed around the world from 2020 due to the pandemic. The highlight is the collaboration of the famous pianist Kyprianos Katsaris, in his first appearance at the Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion and in his first collaboration with FOA.
Conducted by Myronas Michaelides, the program included, in addition to the emblematic Fifth Symphony Fifth Symphony, the Third Concerto for piano and orchestra, as well as one of his most representative works, the Introduction of Egmond.
