Oratorium Mesjasz zajmuje szczególne miejsce w twórczości G. F. Haendla. Bez wątpienia to siła jego wyrazu oraz uniwersalność przesłania sprawiły, iż jeszcze za życia kompozytora Mesjasz został okrzyknięty Arcydziełem. Choć skomponowane w zaledwie 24 dni, to do dziś cieszy się niegasnącą popularnością, za każdym razem wzbudzając entuzjazm publiczności. 

Libretto przygotowane przez Charlesa Jennensa jest kompilacją tekstów zaczerpniętych z Biblii Króla Jakuba oraz Modlitewnika Powszechnego. W istocie każda z trzech części utworu podejmuje osobny wielki temat. Część pierwsza zawiera zatem proroctwo przyjścia na świat Zbawiciela. Druga część, zwieńczona słynnym chórem Alleluja, opowiada o życiu, śmierci i zmartwychwstaniu Chrystusa. Natomiast część ostatnia koncentruje się wokół zapowiedzi zbawienia ludzkości. 

Pod względem muzycznym Mesjasza charakteryzuje bogactwo zastosowanych środków, przy zachowaniu niewielkiej obsady wykonawczej. Za życia kompozytora zespół wokalistów i instrumentalistów nie przekraczał liczby 60 osób. Do tego pierwotnego brzmienia pragną nawiązywać artyści Polskiej Opery Królewskiej. Stąd też znakomitym solistom oraz zespołowi wokalnemu towarzyszyć będzie zespół instrumentów dawnych – Capella Regia Polona. Przy klawesynie zasiądzie Krzysztof Garstka, który poprowadzi wykonanie dzieła.

The Polish Royal Opera WRODZE invites you to a concert that will take place as part of the GG Gorczycki.

The Messiah  Oratorio  occupies a special place in the work of GF Handel. Undoubtedly, it was the power of its expression and the universal nature of its message that made the  Messiah  a Masterpiece during the composer's lifetime. Although composed in just 24 days, it still enjoys unwavering popularity today, arousing the enthusiasm of the audience every time. 

The libretto prepared by Charles Jennens is a compilation of texts taken from  the King James Bible  and  the Universal Prayer Book . In fact, each of the three parts of the work deals with a separate great topic. The first part therefore contains the prophecy of the coming into the world of the Savior. The second movement, crowned with the famous choir  Hallelujah , tells about the life, death and resurrection of Christ. The last part, on the other hand, focuses on the announcement of the salvation of mankind. 

In terms of music,  the Messiah  is characterized by a  wealth  of means used  , while keeping a small cast of performers . In the composer's life, the group of vocalists and instrumentalists  did not exceed 60 people .  Artists of the Polish Royal Opera want to refer to this original sound. Hence, the soloists and vocal ensemble will be accompanied by an early instrument ensemble - Capella Regia Polona. Krzysztof Garstka will sit at the harpsichord, who will conduct the performance.
