CONCERT - Mon amant de Saint-Jean - Stéphanie d'Oustrac, Le Poème Harmonique

Pour leur première collaboration, Vincent Dumestre et Stéphanie d’Oustrac ont eu une idée un peu folle ! Celle de renouer avec l’atmosphère des Années folles, justement, tout en montrant les connivences de cette période avec la musique ancienne. Car l’entre-deux guerres, marqué par la quête identitaire et l’âge d’or de l’ethnologie, a aussi été un moment où de nombreux compositeurs comme Vincent d’Indy ont tenté d’intégrer la musique populaire ou le folklore traditionnel à leurs œuvres. Après ses deux albums Aux marches du palais et Plaisirs d’amour, couronnés de prix, voilà une troisième incursion du Poème Harmonique dans le répertoire de la chanson. Avec en interprète aussi à l’aise dans le baroque que dans la chanson réaliste, façon Yvette Guilbert, la flamboyante mezzo-soprano Stéphanie d’Oustrac.

For their first collaboration, Vincent Dumestre and Stéphanie d'Oustrac had a crazy idea! That of reconnecting with the atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties, precisely, while showing the collusion of this period with early music. Because the interwar period, marked by the quest for identity and the golden age of ethnology, was also a time when many composers like Vincent d'Indy tried to integrate popular music or folklore traditional to their works. After his two albums Aux marches du palais  and Plaisirs d'amour, crowned with prizes, here is a third incursion of Poème Harmonique into the repertoire of song. With the flamboyant mezzo-soprano Stéphanie d'Oustrac as an interpreter as comfortable in the baroque as in realistic song, Yvette Guilbert style.
