<메시아>는 역사적 가치는 물론 현대를 살아가는 우리들에게 헌신과 섬김, 나눔이라는 의미를 되새기게 하며 모두에게 종교의 테두리를 초월한 깊은 감동을 주는 작품으로 현재까지도 종교음악이라는 한계를 벗어나 인류의 가장 위대한 음악적 유산의 하나로 손꼽히는 최고의 예술작품으로 평가되고 있다.
 
 
이번 공연은 윤의중 예술감독의 지휘 아래 카메라타 안티콰 서울이 관현악을 맡는다. 국내 정상급 성악가인 소프라노 박미자, 알토 양송미, 테너 김기찬, 베이스 손혜수가 함께하고 국립합창단, 수원시립합창단이 협연하여 더욱 풍성하고 화려한 하모니를 선사할 예정이다.
 
윤의중 국립합창단 신임 예술감독은 뛰어난 음악성과 세밀하고 정확한 지휘로 감동적이고 세련된 합창을 만들어내는 최정상급 합창지휘자로 평가 받고 있다. (사)서울 레이디스 싱어즈, 과천시립여성합창단, 창원, 수원시립합창단의 예술감독과 한국합창지휘자협회, (사)한국합창총연합회 선임이사를 맡아 한국의 합창 발전에 기여하였으며 2017년 11월부터 국립합창단의 제 10대 예술감독 겸 상임지휘자로 활동하고 있다.

For this performance, Camerata Antiqua Seoul will be in charge of the orchestra under the direction of Artistic Director Eui-Jung Yoon. Korea's top vocalists, soprano Park Mi-ja, alto Yang Song-mi, tenor Kim Ki-chan, and bass Son Hye-su, along with the National Choir and Suwon City Choir will perform together to present richer and more splendid harmonies.
 
The new artistic director of the National Choir, Eui-Jung Yoon, is evaluated as a top-class choral conductor who creates moving and sophisticated choirs with excellent musicality and detailed and accurate conducting. He has contributed to the development of Korea's choral music by serving as artistic director of the Seoul Ladies Singers, Gwacheon City Women's Choir, Changwon, and Suwon City Choirs, and as senior director of the Korea Choral Conductors Association and the Korea Choir Association, and has been a member of the National Choir since November 2017. He is currently serving as the 10th artistic director and permanent conductor of .
