Die Musik unserer Creative Chair Anna Thorwaldsdottir erwecke eine «urzeitliche Landschaft», schrieb ein Kritiker nach der Uraufführung ihres Orchesterwerks «Archora». Strawinskys «Feuervogel»-Suite dagegen erzählt von Prinzen und Prinzessinnen, von einem bösen Zauberer und einem guten magischen Vogel. Gemeinsam ist beiden Werken, dass sie eine ganz eigene, kraftvolle musikalische Sprache entwickelt haben – und dem Orchester geradezu szenische Klänge entlocken.

The music of our Creative Chair Anna Thorwaldsdottir evokes a "primeval landscape", wrote one critic after the premiere of her orchestral work "Archora". Stravinsky's "Firebird" suite, on the other hand, tells of princes and princesses, of an evil magician and a good magical bird. What both works have in common is that they have developed their very own, powerful musical language – and elicit almost scenic sounds from the orchestra.
