Considered one of the finest musicians of his generation, Piotr Anderszewski is a regular guest at major concert halls, including the Wiener Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He has collaborated with the Berliner Philharmoniker, with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia of London, the NHK Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo. He has also performed and conducted concerts with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Camerata Salzburg.
During the 2020/21 season he presented, in the many récitals given in Europe, his particular version of the Preludes and Fugues of the Well-Tempered Clavicembalo, book II, also recorded on CD and published in January 2021. He also played with the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Sir John Eliot Gardiner, with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and Jakub Hrusa, with the Wiener Symphoniker and David Zinman.
He has been an exclusive Warner Classics/Erato artist since 2000. With the label he has recorded Beethoven's Diabelli Variations, Partitas No. 1, 3 and 6 by Bach, nominated for a Grammy, and a disc of piano works by Szymanowski, for which he received the Gramophone award in 2006. His recording dedicated to the works of Robert Schumann received the award "Recording of the Year" by BBC Music Magazine in 2012. The English Suites album no. Bach's 1, 3 and 5, released in November 2014, won the Gramophone award in 2015. In 2018, he released an album dedicated to two of Mozart's last Concertos with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
Recognized for the intensity and originality of his interpretations, Piotr Anderszewski has received the Gilmore Award, the Szymanowski Award and the Royal Philharmonic Society Award.
He has been the subject of several documentaries by director Bruno Monsaingeon, Piotr Anderszewski interprets the Diabelli Variations (2001), in which he explores Anderszewski's particular relationship with Beethoven's iconic work. Unquiet Traveler (2008), an unusual artist portrait capturing Anderszewski's reflections on music, performance and his Polish-Hungarian roots. In 2016 Anderszewski moved to the other side of the camera to explore his relationship with his native Warsaw, producing the film Je m'appelle Varsovie .
