English horror romance on Domplatz: A young woman marries the rich, much older widower Maxim de Winter and moves with him to his country estate in Manderlay - somewhere on the southern English coast. In the romantic loneliness, doubts and danger are increasingly mixed, because in the house - largely encouraged by the sinister housekeeper Mrs. Danvers - the spirit of the first Mrs. de Winter, Rebecca, is omnipresent. After the success of »Elisabeth«, musical author Michael Kunze (»Dance of the Vampires«, »Mozart!«) Succeeded in obtaining the rights to a musical version of the famous novel by Daphne du Maurier, whose adaptation by Alfred Hitchcock is legendary . Once again he worked with composer Sylvester Levay and developed one of the most successful German-language musicals ever for the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien. After the Tecklenburg open-air theater, the Magdeburg theater is only the second theater that is allowed to develop a new production of the musical.
