Pete Thanapat, Thai bass-baritone, joined the Lyon Opera Studio this season. Discover it during an intimate piano-vocal concert at the Amphi!

This season, through the operas and symphonic concerts programmed in the main hall, we discover the young and talented artists of the Lyon Opéra Studio  : the Italian-German Giulia Scopelliti, the South African Thandiswa Mpongwana, the Briton Robert Lewis, the Polish Pawel Trojak and Thai Pete Thanapat! The Opéra Underground welcomes them for a series of recitals with piano at the Amphi: the opportunity to discover them in the intimacy of the lied, the melody, the song

Pete Thanapat always wanted to be an opera singer. He never wished for anything else. Eventually he could have become a "chef" because he loves to cook. He likes to draw inspiration from legendary historical singers such as Ettore Bastianini or Tita Ruffo. Singing is a unique experience in the world and opera is for him an extreme form of communication, of such intensity that it can trigger all kinds of feelings. When he sings, he feels at home.

Cette saison, au fil des opéras et concerts symphoniques programmés dans la grande salle, on découvre les jeunes et talentueux artistes du Lyon Opéra Studio : l’Italo-Allemande Giulia Scopelliti, la Sud-Africaine Thandiswa Mpongwana, le Britannique Robert Lewis, le Polonais Pawel Trojak et le Thaïlandais Pete Thanapat ! L’Opéra Underground les accueille pour une série de récitals avec piano à l’Amphi : l’occasion de les découvrir dans l’intimité du lied, de la mélodie, de la chanson

Pete Thanapat a toujours voulu être chanteur d’opéra. Il n’a jamais souhaité autre chose. Eventuellement il aurait pu devenir « chef » car il adore cuisiner. Il aime s’inspirer de chanteurs historiques légendaires tels Ettore Bastianini ou Tita Ruffo. Chanter est une expérience unique au monde et l’opéra est pour lui une forme extrême de communication, d’une intensité telle qu’elle peut déclencher toutes les sortes de sentiments. Quand il chante, il se sent chez lui.
