Mêlant intimement théâtre et musique, Tom Goossens et ses complices s’emparent de Rigoletto (Verdi) et du Roi s’amuse (Hugo) pour créer une polyphonie étonnante et détonante.

Rigoletto, le bouffon du roi, se tient dans un bateau avec un sac mortuaire. Le sac ne contient pas la personne qu'on lui a ordonné de tuer. Dans sa confusion, il tente de reconstituer les événements qui ont conduit à ce destin. Deux chanteur.euses, deux acteur.rices et un pianiste descendent avec lui dans la tragédie qui a commencé comme une comédie.

Avec sa bouffonnerie habituelle, le metteur en scène Tom Goossens nous embarque dans une version d’opéra de tréteaux pour ce Rigoletto ou le Roi s’amuse, pris au pied de la lettre si on peut dire, car repensé à la lumière de Victor Hugo, façon DESCHONECOMPANIE, où les artistes vivent à cent à l’heure cette truculente relecture autour du piano endiablé de Verdi !

Rigoletto, de hofnar van de koning, staat met een lijkzak in een bootje. In de zak zit niet wie hij in opdracht wilde laten vermoorden. In zijn verwarring probeert hij de gebeurtenissen te reconstrueren die tot dit noodlot hebben geleid. Twee zangers, twee acteurs en een pianist dalen samen met hem af in de tragedie die begon als een komedie.

Rigoletto, the king's court jester, is standing in a boat with a body bag. The bag does not contain who he ordered to be killed. In his confusion, he tries to reconstruct the events that led to this fate. Two singers, two actors and a pianist descend with him into the tragedy that started as a comedy.
