Als "große, blasende Musik von ganz besonderer Art" zur Aufführung 1784 angekündigt, als Musik "voll tiefster Sehnsucht" von Antonio Salieri im Filmdrama "Amadeus" 1984 beschrieben - Mozarts "Gran Partita" scheint zu keiner Zeit an Faszination verloren zu haben. Der 28-Jährige hatte die damals vorherrschende Beliebtheit der Blasinstrumente aufgegriffen und auf die Spitze getrieben: Es entstand eine ungewöhnliche Komposition, reich an musikalischen Farben, in der Klanggewalt und -poesie gleichermaßen aufeinandertreffen. Ähnlich spektakulär stellt sich Beethovens Sinfonie Nr. 3 dar, in der sich der Komponist einst der Zwänge der Wiener Klassik zu entledigen suchte. Bis heute gilt die "Eroica", ursprünglich Napoleon Bonaparte gewidmet, als Wegbereiter für die klassisch-romantische Sinfonie, als musikalische Revolution schlechthin.

Announced as "big, blowing music of a very special kind" for performance in 1784, described as music "full of the deepest longing" by Antonio Salieri in the film drama "Amadeus" in 1984 - Mozart's "Gran Partita" does not seem to have lost any of its fascination at any time. The 28-year-old took up the popularity of wind instruments at the time and took it to the extreme: the result was an unusual composition, rich in musical colors, in which the power of sound and poetry meet in equal measure. Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 is similarly spectacular, in which the composer once sought to free himself from the constraints of Viennese classical music. To this day, the "Eroica", originally dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, is considered a pioneer for the classical-romantic symphony, a musical revolution par excellence.
